Guiob Old Church Ruins ~ Camiguin Island

The church is now the remains after the volcanic eruption in Camiguin Island from 1948 to 1951. According to a story, when a volcano erupted that day, most of the villagers ran for shelter at this church but unfortunately the church was also affected burying thousands of people alive with some priest and nuns.

Church ~ what you see is just half part of it, the rest is buried underground

Mary Jane ~ local kid that was selling candles,
kept us company and told us the story of the place

Used to be a bell tower

Lighthouse beside the (used to be) dormitory for the nuns
